We are so grateful for the work that our volunteers undertake for us on a daily basis. If you want to become a volunteer at the Teesside & District Society for the Blind, then we have a number of roles available, from minibus drivers and home visitors to gardeners and admin helpers. Take a look at the list below and see which role would suit you. Once you‘ve decided, send us the completed enquiry form and we will be in touch.
We are always looking out for new volunteers and have a variety of roles available:
Centre Helpers - Helping out in the Social Centre
Home Visitors - Visiting service users in their home
Shopping Escorts - Collecting a service user and taking them shopping
Bus Escorts - Helping service users on and off our transport safely
Minibus Drivers - Collecting and returning service users from their homes to our centre
Gardening - Helping keep Society Sensory Garden neat and tidy
Admin Helpers - Assisting with filing and photocopying
Besides volunteering for one of our roles at Teesside, you can help by: giving donations, Gift Aid, becoming a Friend of the Society, by holding Fundraising Activities (coffee morning, fun run, etc), or by leaving a legacy in your will.
